The endangered Hawaiian monk seals live mostly on remote islets and islands northwest of Hawaii’s main island group, with names like Laysan, Lizianski, French Frigate Shoals, and Midway. Among its work with all Hawaiian wildlife, the Hawaii Wildlife Fund has been working with government officials to help bring the monk seal population back not only to healthy levels, but to a balanced sex ratio.
